Events in 2023

We started the new year off with a bracing walk followed by a delicious selection of homemade soups and cheeses accompanied by crusty bread at the village hall.

In February we ran the always popular film night. This time we were showing ‘Mrs Harris goes to Paris’ which of course, had to be accompanied by Coq au Vin - all homemade and absolutely delicious.

Another event in February was the Table Top Sale. This was in aid of the Privett Church Flower Festival that took place in May. The Sale was well attended by both sellers and non-sellers alike and raised lots of money.

In April we had our AGM & Curry Night. It’s amazing how well attended the AGM always is when there’s a delicious homemade curry involved!

A very dedicated sub committee was set up to organise an event at Privett Church to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III in May. The wet weather on the day didn’t hamper us at all - we just all moved inside the church where tables were set up along with a live band for dancing.

In September we held the always popular Harvest Supper. This year we had the added bonus of a live musician to accompany our supper (see images under the Gallery tab).

We finished off our busy year of various events with a ‘Wine Tasting for Christmas’ event (first time for Privett village hall) at the end of November. We were all given an excellent selection of various wines to taste along with the delicious canapés that were served to suit each wine that came along. A very popular event that we all decided should be repeated. I’m not sure if the organiser would agree though...
