Accessibility Statement

Last updated: November 2025

Privett Village Hall (PVH) is committed to making our website and our building as accessible as we reasonably can for all members of the community. We want everyone to be able to use the hall, attend events, and access information without unnecessary barriers.

1. Using this website

We aim to follow good practice for accessibility, including:

  • Clear, simple language

  • High-contrast text

  • Mobile-friendly pages

  • Alt text for images where practical

  • Logical page structure for screen readers

  • If you have trouble accessing any part of the website, email privettvhall@gmail.com and we’ll fix the issue or provide the information another way.

2. Accessibility of the hall

PVH is an older rural building, and although we have made improvements, there are some limitations. Current access features include:

  • Step-free entry through the main door

  • Accessible toilet

  • Level flooring throughout the main hall

  • On-site parking close to the entrance

  • Wide internal doorways suitable for most wheelchairs

Known limitations

We want to be open about the things that may still present challenges:

  • The historic fabric of the building limits how much structural alteration is possible

  • Some external ground surfaces are uneven

  • Assistance may be required to access certain storage areas or facilities

If you have specific access needs, contact us before your visit and we will do everything we reasonably can to help.

3. Assistance during events

If you attend an event and need assistance, please speak to any PVH volunteer or organiser. We are always happy to help with:

  • Setting up seating

  • Clearing spaces

  • Navigating the building

  • Providing information in an alternative format (email, large print, or verbally)

4. Alternative formats

If you need information from the website or booking documents in a different format, email privettvhall@gmail.com

We can usually provide:

  • Large-print versions

  • Plain-text versions

  • Email-only versions

5. Reporting accessibility problems

If you find any accessibility issues with the website or the hall, we want to know. Contact: privettvhall@gmail.com

We’ll acknowledge your message and aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe.

6. Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with how we respond to an accessibility request, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS):
