Harvest Supper - 27 Sep 2025

Last night Privett Village Hall was filled with warmth, laughter and delicious food for our annual Harvest Supper. It was a full house, with every seat taken as locals, friends, neighbours and visitors came together to celebrate the end of the summer season.

The food was fantastic, all procured and prepared by our wonderful team of volunteers with care and showcasing some wonderful local produce. A huge thank you to all of them - they work away in the background for the benefit of all of our village and I think they deserve credit for this. So thank you Vanessa Christie, Jan Topping, Gill Chung, Gill Martin, Ann Daniels, Rob Hollis, Rob Baldock, Edward Saddler, Alex Raphael and Melanie Wright! (apologies if I've forgotten anyone...)

Guests also enjoyed some very nice local beer, and the wine choices proved to be spot on (well done Rob Hollis) - perfectly complementing the dishes on offer.

What made the evening so special, though, was the sense of community. Nights like these don’t just happen by themselves – they are the result of countless hours of effort behind the scenes. A heartfelt thank you goes to both our new and long-standing committee members who worked tirelessly to make the Harvest Supper such a success. Your dedication keeps the hall thriving and ensures that events like this remain at the heart of village life.

Judging by the smiles, chatter and banter that filled the hall, everyone had a wonderful time. Here’s to many more evenings of good food, good drink and good company at our lovely Village Hall. And thank you once again all involved in organising it.
